More details surfaced about Jim Fiore’s dismissal. Fiore is accused of discriminating against employees based on gender, age and sexual orientation, according to sources close to, and within the athletic department. Fiore is also accused of inappropriately touching female student-athletes.

AD Scoop learned the University of Missouri-Kansas City appointed Carla Wilson to be its full-time athletic director after she served on an interim basis for the past five months. Wilson is the school’s first female athletic director. She’s also the first female AD in the history of the Western Athletic Conference.

Athletics Director Jaime Pollard announced that Iowa State has received a lead gift of $25 million from the founder of Reiman Publications, which jumpstarted plans to enclose the southern end zone of the south end zone at Jack Trice Stadium.

JMU Director of Athletics Jeff Bourne announced Head football coach Mickey Matthews will not return to James Madison University for the 2014 season. The Dukes completed the 2013 season with a record of 6-6 and missed the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs for the fourth time since advancing to the NCAA Semifinals in 2008.

After 28 years at the helm of the Augustana athletic department, Director of Athletics Bill Gross is stepping down and will take a position in Augustana’s Advancement Office as a Senior Gifts Officer. A national search for a replacement will begin immediately.
OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY
After beating Indiana 42-14 Saturday, Athletic director Gene Smith came down to present the Buckeye players with the game ball for the longest winning streak in Ohio State history, 23 consecutive wins.

Director of athletics John Hardt has announced the appointment of Dan Isaf as Bucknell’s new associate athletic director for NCAA compliance and student services. Isaf has spent the last eight years working in the NCAA compliance office at Syracuse University after starting out in the legal profession.
MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY
After a three-month search, the Mississippi State University Athletic Department announced the hire of Bill Martin as the assistant athletic director for media relations. Martin comes to MSU from Louisiana State Universiy where he finishes his time as the associate sports information director. He began his career with the Tiger athletic department in August of 2001 as a student intern within the sports information office.
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA LOS ANGELES
The UCLA Athletic Department has selected ZGF Architects LLP, an award-winning architectural firm, to design a new football training facility. ZGF Architects recently designed the University of Oregon Football Performance Center, which many see as the gold standard in the athletic facility arms race. UCLA’s new football facility is estimated to cost $50 million which will be funded by private donations. It will house a locker room, athletic training area, strength and conditioning facility, coaches’ offices, team meeting rooms, equipment rooms and video rooms, in addition to several elements that will feature the storied history of UCLA football.
