- Regents Steve Hicks and Robert Stillwell who are the governing board’s athletics liaisons.
- Pamela Willeford, who served as U.S. ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein under President George W. Bush.
- Robert Rowling, a former regent whose $5 million donation prompted the school to name the east side of the football stadium after his father Reese Rowling.
- Michael Clement, accounting professor in Texas’ McCombs School of Business
- Charles Matthews, former vice president of Exxon Mobil and current president of the Texas Exes alumni group.
- Charles Tate, an investment banker and former business partner of prominent former regent Tom Hicks
SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA UNIVERSITY
Southeastern names Jay Artigues as the new Director of Athletics. Artigues joined the Southeastern athletics staff in 2005, serving eight seasons as the university’s head baseball coach, compiling a 276-188 win-loss record, and earning the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Co-Coach of the Year Award in 2010.
UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN
The UW Athletic Department is forming an advisory council of fans. The plan is to start with a group of 20 participants that will meet four times a year. Season ticket holders will be eligible for the committee, and Justin Doherty, the UW associate athletic for external relations will coordinate the project. @JDatWisconsin

Virginia Tech and The University of Tennessee will play at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol Tennessee Sept. 10, 2016. The game will be a national showcase for both programs that could set an NCAA single-game attendance record at the 52-year-old racetrack.

Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long will be the first chairman of the College Football Playoff selection committee. The official committee will be announced Wednesday.
RUTGERS UNIVERSITY
Rutgers seeks a manager of Athletic Ticket Operations responsible for the overall organization of the Athletic Ticket Office.
UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA
Rocky LaRose has retired as UA’s deputy athletic director. She became the longest-serving Senior Women’s Athletics administrator/deputy AD in Pac-12 history. Larose will surely be missed around the Arizona athletic department.
SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY
SMU could start selling beer at its sports venues as early as January.SMU has already obtained state and local permits, but is waiting for signoff from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA UNIVERSITY
Southeastern will be announcing its new Athletic Director at 2:30 PM today. Baseball coach Jay Artigues has been interim athletics director since Bart Bellairs resigned in June. Bellairs had held the job since November 2009.

South Dakota State is looking for an Academic Athletic Advisor.

LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY
The LSU athletic department has commissioned a team of economists to conduct a study on the impact that LSU athletics has on the local and regional economy. Before, and during Saturday’s game vs Florida, these economists will be interviewing fans as part of the study. We’re just going to take a wild guess and say their findings will be significant.
WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY
WVU recorded $77.7 million in revenue and $73.5 million in operating expenses in 2012-13 for a net profit of $4.2 million.The Mountaineer Athletic Club set a record $23.9 million in donations. Last year WVU lost $13 million due to the Big East exit fee.

The University of Wisconsin Athletic Department will get $3 million to play its 2016 football season opener at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. UW and the Green Bay Packers made an official announcement on Friday that the Badgers will face LSU on Sept. 3, 2016, as part of a neutral site series.

Meredith McDowell will assume new responsibilities, taking over as Assistant Athletic Director for Fundraising and will also serve as the department’s Senior Women’s Administrator.
