Welcome to NEXT UP 2019 presented by adidas.
Now in its fourth year, NEXT UP honors senior-level administrators that have been handpicked by a panel of Power Five athletic directors. NEXT UP honorees are believed to be ready to take their place in the chair, leading their own departments.

Additionally this year, 2018 NEXT UP class members took part in the nomination process.
After conferring with the 2019 NEXT UP selection panel and 2018 NEXT UP class members, a select number of candidates were nominated to be part of NEXT UP 2019 presented by adidas. Following the initial nomination process, CollegeAD, the selection panel, and 2018 NEXT UP class members narrowed the NEXT UP 2019 presented by adidas class to nine.
Once the class was solidified, the CollegeAD staff conducted one-on-one interviews with each NEXT UP 2019 presented by adidas class member. These conversations gave us an insight to each honoree’s unique story, what makes them stand out, and why they are NEXT UP.
For the first time in NEXT UP history, CollegeAD is proud to incorporate video as part of this year’s presentation, a special message from each of our honorees’ athletic director. The videos, which will be unveiled throughout the week, give us the opportunity to hear from each honorees’ athletic director about what makes each honoree NEXT UP, but also why they will succeed when they eventually ascend to the chair.
Recognition for each class member will take place over the course of three days (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) during the National Association of Collegiate Director of Athletics convention.
