Missouri Athletic Director Mack Rhoades held a news conference Wednesday to discus his search for a football coach to replace the retiring Gary Pinkel. The Columbia Daily Tribune has provided a complete transcript of the presser. The press conference focused on Missouri’s search for its next head coach. When asked about using a search firm Rhoades had this to say, “I haven’t decided yet on a search firm. I’ve used them in the past, and I’ve also not used search firms. So we’ll think through that. There’s probably some search firms at some other institutions that have had a head start and are using some particular firms. Right or wrong, I’m not sure I want to use a firm that’s already being used by another institution. If I use one, I want them 100-percent thinking about the University of Missouri. I want them eating, sleeping, drinking it. We’ll know here probably within the next three to five days whether we’ll go down the road with a search firm.” Rhoades also refused to put a timeline on the search saying “I’ve never put a time line (on it). It’s so fluid in terms of who that candidate is and is their team going to a bowl game and is their team playing in a conference championship game. You certainly don’t want to be disruptive to any of that. There’s other schools out there that have had a head start. You take that all into consideration but never put a timeline on it.” –Columbia Daily Tribune, Read More
