Heaberlin, a 1999 Ottawa High School graduate, was promoted to Deputy Athletic Director at NCAA Division II Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina earlier this month. This after holding the position of Associate Athletic Director for five of his eight years at the school, and for the last seven months in the role of interim Director of Intercollegiate Athletics after the sudden retirement of Neil McGeachy. Leading the department all while continuing to manage his primary duties didn’t go unnoticed. In May, while serving as Tournament Director for the NCAA Men’s Golf Regional in Syracuse, NY, Heaberlin’s wife, Emily, surprised him by accepting the Jeff L.
