Barely a week into his new job as Purdue athletic director and Mike Boblinski has no time for a break. He’s met with former athletic director Morgan Burke on a transition process that includes a notebook that would dwarf a New York City phone book. He’s met with individual coaches, spoken at a 6 a.m. meeting with student-athletes and received a directive from President Mitch Daniels and the Purdue board of trustees that can be summed up in this way: Win big and do it the right way. “Never compromise integrity of program,” he said he was told during a Wednesday morning press conference. “I get that. We want to have the highest degree of success we’re capable of having.“We’re doing that in lots of things already. You can’t ask for more from the president and the board. When they are invested like that, when they care about the program, that gives you a fighting chance.” Boblinki said the athletic department is positioned to win that fight. -Pete DiPrimio, .news-sentinel.com– Read More
