Back from my long trek through the wilderness, I’ve finally found civilization and a WiFi signal just in time to bring you The Weekly Audible. Quite a bit happened this week, but there were certain topics you all seemed to want to discuss. Mainly future job prospects, progressive hiring practices, and even some basketball-related-but-not-an-actual-basketball-game television programming.
As always, this article and our entire site for that matter, are entirely dependent upon you. Have something you would like to say? Let us know on Twitter at @CollegeAD. Need more than 140 characters? Then hit the “Contact AD” button below.
Let’s dive right in.
You guys make my job easy
Great article about Karen Gross. I'm already formulating answers to these in my head. https://t.co/TAGimNJ5WK

One of the fun things about the coverage we provide is getting to see, and sometimes contribute to, the professional growth of up-and-coming stars. But what’s great is those stars are never hard to find because you guys point them out when they deserve it.
Thought this might be a good little read for you @jgdCoogs . It's just a matter of time for you! https://t.co/2fOa1bP2iN

There are always dozens of these messages in our mentions, and they never get old.
There is hope for the future yet
I have to admit, when I wrote the tweet for our article on the Top 5 Women Best Suited to Become Men’s College Basketball Head Coaches, there was a bit of wishful thinking involved. As much as we all love to see milestone events that signal a positive change, we know that change doesn’t come about easily. By it’s very nature it challenges peoples’ sensibilities and preconceived notions of what works. That’s why feedback like this is so awesome.
Talked about this in one of my recent classes I teach…positive feedback from the students. https://t.co/8bfgHVtHCZ

Maybe because they are young, or maybe because they’ve heard it so many times that they are more accepting of the possibility, but this next generation seems more open to the idea than before. That’s part of the reason Coach Stanley ranked so high on her list. She already has quite a following.
I could definitely see Coach Dawn Staley coaching a men's program if she ever wanted to make that jump. https://t.co/i1QNVhjL2j

We’re not saying it was justified, but…
Someone leaked the March Madness bracket before the official release, and by golly, the NCAA is going to get to the bottom of it.
LOL–lots of luck with that. https://t.co/GbQPkOiG4E

So, let’s get a few things out of the way first.
Was it theft? I would say yes, because if you had that information then you probably signed some kind of nondisclosure agreement.
Would CollegeAD have published it? Most likely. This is an inside scoop like any coaching transaction or deal. Like most media outlets, we have no contract with the NCAA to keep their bracket secret until they reveal it themselves.
Did they deserve it? That’s up for debate, but a few of you have strong feelings about it.

That’s all we have for this week. As always, if you have something to say, we want to hear it. Have a great weekend.
