It’s time once again for The Weekly Audible, and this week, there was a lot to discuss. New coaches and ADs, Tennessee, postseason basketball. All hot topics, but there were a few things that just seemed to stand out a bit more.

So, let’s start with news that isn’t really news at all.
Alabama makes a lot of money.

In fairness, we all know college sports is big business. We didn’t need a report that some schools are pulling in $40 million plus in profit to see that.
That's likely at least half of most Power 5 athletic department budgets https://t.co/8ndF96O3di

Close. I don’t know about budgets, but I can tell you it’s at least half of the total revenue earned last year by 25 Power-5 departments. (that we know of, since private schools don’t have to report)
This is why we see salaries rising at meteoric rates, especially at the top end.
And some wondered if Nick Saban was overpaid … https://t.co/PJX483wOYD

Or maybe we’re all just underpaid. Yeah, that’s it.
I had the same question
I’ve got to say, when Jeremy Darlow’s last article rolled across my desk, the competitor in me screamed. Once I calmed down though, I started to think about it rationally and one question came up.

Looks like I wasn’t the only one. I guess this just becomes a learning experience for your team. You aren’t exactly giving up on the next game, but you are focusing more on next year. It’s a moment where you lean on your senior leaders and say, “This year hasn’t worked out like we’d have hoped, and the best thing we can do for the rest of the team is try to make them better next season. So in this last game, you take the reigns.”
What say you, Puerto Rico?
The SEC decided to offer up for bid the opportunity to steal the SEC Baseball Tournament from Hoover, Alabama, and Louisiana is jumping all over it. But, what about other baseball crazy states in the general region, like say, Arkansas?

Or maybe Tennessee.
@collegead @SEC Sure wish @visitknoxville would bid on this!

Even Jacksonville, Florida.

I promise you, it will be extremely hard for anyone to pry the tournament away from the excellent facilities and hospitality of the Hoover Met, but plenty will try. After all, the SEC does love their baseball.
Not to end on a downer, but this is worth it
Very few of us are personally, or even geographically close to Minnesota, but nearly everyone I know has a profound respect and admiration for Jerry Kill. It’s horrible when anyone is diagnosed with a crippling disease like epilepsy, but even more so when it’s someone as good and genuine as Coach Kill. That he and the administration couldn’t come to terms on a continued role with the university shouldn’t be taken as an indictment of anyone involved. He may come back to serve Minnesota again, but until then, let’s be appreciative of the time he gave not only to the Gophers, but to all of college sports.
Jerry Kill is an unbelievable coach and leader! The game of football would not be the same without him. #Gophers https://t.co/ajPTljeLNR
