A search committee of 14 has been appointed by University of Washington President Ana Mari Cauce to find the Huskies’ next athletic director, the school announced Wednesday. UW has also hired Atlanta-based Parker Executive Search to assist with the hiring process. Pete Dukes, professor in the Foster School of Business, will chair UW’s search committee, which will also includes two student-athletes — Jake Eldrenkamp (football) and Madi McNamara (soccer) — and one prominent booster, Ron Crockett, a member of the Tyee Club Executive Committee. The other committee members include Alexes Harris, chair of the Advisory Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics and associate professor of sociology; Frank Hodge, faculty athletics representative; Bill Ayer, UW Regent; Michael Callahan, men’s crew coach; Leslie Gabriel, volleyball associate head coach; Rolf Johnson, chief of staff in the Office of the President; Jennifer Hoffman, assistant professor in the Center for Leadership in Athletics; Pete Shimer, vice chair of the UW Foundation Board; Denzil Suite, vice president of Student Life; and Ed Taylor, vice provost and dean of undergraduate academic affairs. The committee has been asked to provide “a small number” of finalists for Cauce, who will make the final selection.
