With only 46 total wins and six 20-loss seasons, University of Vermont women’s basketball coach Lori McBride was relieved of her duties Friday. McBride, who has two years left on her contract, ended her six-year run as the Catamounts’ basketball coach with an overall record of 46-134. Her .257 winning percentage is the program’s lowest since Jean Condon compiled an 18-65 mark (.207) from 1979-83. McBride signed a four-year contract extension in March 2014, with an annual base salary of $130,988. According to Corran, the former coach will receive 50 percent of her salary over the next two years. If McBride were to accept another coaching position that would affect the buyout, Corran said in a news conference Friday afternoon.-Lauren Read, burlingtonfreepress.com– Read More
