Shea Seals, the University of Tulsa’s career scoring leader, has been promoted to the position of full-time basketball assistant coach on the Hurricane staff after spending the previous three seasons as director of player development, the Tulsa World has confirmed. Seals, 39, is one of the most recognizable faces in program history, having played on four NCAA Tournament teams at Tulsa in 1993-97 and making two trips to the Sweet Sixteen. In addition to his 2,228 career points, he ranks among TU’s top five in rebounds, assists and steals and was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011. – Kelly Hines, Tulsa World.
