The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Thursday that Lew Hill, who is currently in his fifth season as an assistant coach at Oklahoma, is the new UTRGV men’s basketball head coach. Hill will begin his responsibilities at the conclusion of Oklahoma’s NCAA Tournament run. Oklahoma is set to face Villanova in the Final Four on Saturday at 5 p.m. on TBS at NRG Stadium in Houston. With a win, Oklahoma will play for the NCAA Championship on Monday at 8 p.m. against either No. 1 North Carolina or No. 10 Syracuse. UTRGV Athletics will introduce Hill to the media and the public in a press conference on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the international room of the International Trade & Technology Building on the southeast corner of the Edinburg campus.
