Richmond men’s basketball’s Rob Jones has been promoted to associate head coach, head coach Chris Mooney announced. Jones begins his 11th season on the staff this summer, having spent the last seven years as an assistant coach after working as a director of operations for Richmond. Originally from Jefferson City, Mo., has helped guide the Spiders to five 20-win seasons, six postseason appearances and final national rankings of No. 24 in 2009-10 and No. 21 in 2010-11. Richmond has averaged 21.5 wins per season over the last six years and has finished in the top-100 of the RPI in four of the last five seasons.
