Washington Athletic Director Jen Cohen announced that head softball coach Heather Tarr has signed a seven-year contract extension through June 2025. In addition, Washington has announced they have received a private and anonymous gift to aid the UW in adding a Softball Performance Center, a best-in-class facility to enhance the day-to-day needs of the softball program. “I’m grateful for the department’s faith in me to continue to lead the program and I’m excited for the future of Husky Softball,” said Tarr. “Additionally, the support for and commitment to the student-athletes that comes with facility enhancements like this really shows all the great things we can do for future Huskies.” Tarr is the winningest coach in University of Washington history in any sport, with 606 wins entering the 2019 season. No other active coach with fewer than 15 seasons as a head coach have won as many games as Tarr, whose .719 career winning percentage is 19th among active coaches. – Read More
