The University of Washington’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) presented its annual Student-Athlete Academic Services Report at the board of regents meeting Tuesday, and the reports were good. Of the 22 UW varsity athletics teams, 21 compiled team grade-point averages over 3.00 in the fall quarter of 2018, with the men’s basketball team just under at 2.91. The gymnastics team put together the highest team GPA with a 3.55, and three more came in over 3.40. According to the materials the ICA presented to the regents, 71 percent of UW student-athletes earned GPAs over 3.00, and 139 made Dean’s List. -Josh Kirshenbaum, dailyuw. Read More.
