Benton Central graduate Christy Smith’s journey to become a women’s college basketball head coach reached its conclusion Wednesday when she was introduced as the new head coach at Incarnate Word, located in San Antonio. Smith served as an assistant under Sharon Versyp at Purdue from 2011 to 2014, when she left to take a similar position at her alma mater, Arkansas.
