If the UNM Athletic Department is hoping to use football to boost revenue, they have their work cut out for them. Ticket sales are down and not just by a little. The athletic department is hoping new gameday features and some wins will win back fans. The football team is coming off a 3-9 record last season and the Mountain West Media is picking it to come in last this year. However, dedicated fans say are staying hopeful. Yet, season ticket sales are down, currently around at 6,674, according to the athletic department. “Last year at this time were at 7,900. Our total in 2017 for FB season tickets was 10,373,” UNM Athletic Deputy Director for External Affairs Brad Hutchins said in an email. Over the past decade, average game attendance has dropped from more than 30,000 to just over 21,000 fans a game last year. That doesn’t count the ticket holders who don’t bother to show up. –  Jackie Kent , krqe – Read More
