The Michigan football team’s offseason trip to South Africa cost a total of $1.19 million, according to records obtained by the Free Press. Michigan took its team, coaches and several staffers on a week-long trip abroad in May, the third straight year Jim Harbaugh and company have taken the program overseas in the offseason (Italy in 2017; France in 2018). All three trips were funded by athletic department donors.
