University of Michigan interim Donald R. Shepherd Director of Athletics Jim Hackett announced Wednesday (Nov. 4) a contract extension that will keep U-M men’s basketball Head Coach John Beilein in Ann Arbor through the 2020-21 season. Considered one of the most tactical basketball minds in the country, Beilein continues to be an innovator and key figure in NCAA college basketball. Entering his 38th year as a collegiate head coach, Beilein has compiled a career record of 717-428, placing him in the top 10 in victories among active Division I head coaches. This will be Beilein’s third extension during his tenure in Ann Arbor. He was awarded an extension to the 2015-16 season on Jan. 11, 2010, and a second to the 2018-19 season on July 17, 2013.
