The University of Dayton men’s basketball team may gain new fans in China this season. Five UD students from China will broadcast home men’s basketball games on in Mandarin Chinese this season. Anyone in China can listen to the broadcasts, starting with the exhibition game against Saginaw Valley State on Nov. 7, for free online. “This is an exceptional opportunity to promote the Dayton Flyers brand internationally and provide our students with unique real-world experience,” said Assistant Athletic Director Michael LaPlaca in a press release. “The combination of basketball’s popularity in China and the opportunity for international students to become more involved with Flyer athletics sets the University of Dayton apart from any other institution.” – David Jablonski, Dayton Daily.
