UCF fired basketball coach Joi Williams shortly after posting a first round loss to SMU in the American Athletic Conference tournament Friday. Williams led the team to two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2009 and 2011, but recorded just one winning season during her previous nine seasons with the program. She left the program with a 114-163 overall record and 59-91 conference record. First year athletic director Danny White fired Williams Monday after the team returned from Connecticut, the site of the conference tournament, according to the school’s release.
