Alabama men’s basketball head coach Avery Johnson announced Wednesday that Kobie Baker has been hired as the Special Assistant to the Head Coach / Senior Director of Basketball Operations. Baker returns to Tuscaloosa, where he spent three years in the program as the director of basketball operations (2006-07), assistant basketball coach (2007-08) and athletics development officer (2008-09). Baker is a 1993 graduate of Tuscaloosa’s Central High School and a 1998 graduate of Talladega College, helping lead Talledega College to the 1995 Southern States Conference Championship.
