Troy University’s Deputy Athletics Director for Internal Affairs and Senior Woman Administrator Sandy Atkins begins her first year of a four-year term on the NCAA Division I Softball Selection Committee. Atkins, a Troy University Sports Hall of Fame member as both a softball player and administrator, is part of a 10-member committee tasked with selecting and seeding the 64-team field for the NCAA Division I Softball Tournament, executing the Women’s College World Series and other initiatives to advance the sport. “This is an awesome honor to be appointed to the NCAA Softball Committee,” Atkins said. “I am deeply humbled to serve alongside individuals who have the passion, dedication and responsibility to select the best possible teams to compete for national championships.  After graduation at Troy, Atkins began her professional career as a graduate assistant at the University of Kentucky where she earned her master’s degree. From there, Atkins served as the Assistant Director of Compliance at the Southeastern Conference before returning to Troy as the Director of Compliance in 2001. – Read More
