Scott Lazenby, who served as athletic director at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi since 2012, will step down from the position, the school announced Thursday. Willis Wilson, the head men’s basketball coach, will serve as interim athletic director while the school conducts a national search for Lazenby’s replacement.It is unknown when Lazenby’s last day on the job was or how long he will stay with the school after Thursday’s announcement. The announcement was made in a memo sent to faculty and staff around noon Thursday. Lazenby had been at A&M-Corpus Christi since 2008 and in his tenure the Islanders won 14 Southland Conference championships.
