Robert Coleman, who has 28 years of administrative experience in college athletics, has been named the new athletic director at St. Mary’s University, the school announced Wednesday. Coleman, a 52-year-old New York native, will join the Rattlers on Aug. 6. He is currently the AD at Whittier College in Whittier, Calif., a post he has held since 2005. Under Coleman’s leadership the past 12 years, the Poets have had five teams finish as the top-ranked NCAA Division III program.
