Mike Kirkland and Scott Nuss will share interim athletic director duties at Southwestern College until a full-time director is hired sometime this fall, President Brad Andrews announced today. Their appointments began July 1. Kirkland, who is associate athletic director and director of track and field, will oversee all men’s sports, facilities, act as liaison to the KCAC and NAIA, and take responsibility for eligibility issues. Kirkland served as athletic director from 2003-09. Nuss, current sports information director, will be named interim assistant athletic director and will oversee all women’s sports, be in charge of game and event management, and day-to-day administrative management in the department.
