Southern Illinois University celebrated its 150th birthday on March 6 and commemorated the event with #SIUDAY — the third-annual SIU Day of Giving. The University raised an all-time high of more than $909,000 during #SIUDAY. Athletics led the campus in giving with $202,123 raised. “It was an unbelievable day not only for the institution but for Saluki Athletics,” said Associate Athletic Director/Chief Revenue Officer Jason Fairfield. “We are proud to keep Athletics at the forefront for fundraising with bringing in more than $150,000 in honor of 150 years of SIU.” On the Day of Giving, Athletics provided options for both individual-sport giving and the Saluki Athletic Scholarship Fund.
