Lacey Shalenko, originally from Collinsville, Illinois, has been named an assistant coach for the SIUE women’s basketball program, announced Head Coach Paula Buscher. Shalenko most recently was an assistant coach at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She has deep roots in the St. Louis Metro area having played at UMSL as well as Collinsville High School.During the 2013-14 season, Shalenko helped the Tritons to a 21-8 record, the second-best mark in program history. The team advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament after being ranked nationally in scoring defense, scoring margin, and rebounding margin.
