Dumont native Ashley Cieplicki has been named acting head women’s basketball coach at Rutgers-Newark. Cieplicki, who played at Rowan, had been on the Fairleigh Dickinson staff since 2012. Previously, she was an assistant at Holy Family University in Philadelphia, video operations coordinator for the WNBA’s Liberty and head coach of the New Jersey Gym Ratz, an AAU girls program. She takes over a Rutgers team that was 15-14 last season and reached the semifinals of the New Jersey Athletic Conference tournament and the championship game of the ECAC Metro/Upstate championship. – North Jersey.
