Smith College basketball assistant coach Chessie Jackson is leaving the Pioneers to become an assistant coach at Princeton University. Jackson will join Courtney Banghart’s staff at Princeton, and will have the opportunity to assist in all parts of the program including player development, on floor coaching, recruiting and scouting. Banghart is the reigning Naismith Women’s College Coach of the Year after leading the Tigers to an unblemished 30-0 regular season. In the process, Princeton earned the highest-ever national ranking (13th) for an Ivy program, and went on to become just the second Ivy team to record a NCAA tournament win.
