Prairie View A&M University Athletic Director Ashley Robinson announced that Byron Smith has been named the school’s head men’s basketball coach. Smith becomes the sixth head coach in PVAMU NCAA Division I history and the 10th head coach since the 1956-57 campaign. Prior to accepting the role of head coach, Smith spent the previous three seasons as an assistant at PVAMU. He was named interim head coach the final three months of the 2015-16 season. – HoopDirt.
