Bobcat athletic director Steve Schneider announced that Chuck Brewer would be joining the Peru State athletic department staff as the interim women’s basketball coach. Brewer served as the head basketball coach at College of Saint Mary for the past seven seasons. During Coach Brewer’s tenure, the CSM basketball program has become a conference power. The Flames have made four straight NAIA Division II National Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 appearance in 2014. He has coached numerous MCAC players of the week and five NAIA Division II All-Americans. He has also coached 24 MCAC All-Conference athletes, two MCAC Players of the Year, one Freshman of the Year, two Newcomers of the Year, and one Defensive Player of the Year. His teams have also been successful in the classroom with 20 MCAC Scholar-Athletes, five NAIA Scholar-Athletes, and four NAIA Scholar Teams.
