John Bach, former Penn State men’s basketball head coach and NBA coaching veteran, died Monday. He was 91. Bach led the Nittany Lions to a 122-121 record over 10 seasons, from 1969-78. His PSU teams were renowned for their pressure man-to-man defense with four squads ranked in the nation’s top 20 in scoring defense. His teams posted back-to-back records of 17-8 and 15-8 in 1972 and 1973 respectively, behind Brooklyn native Ron Brown. – HoopDirt. Read More.
