Penn State is ready to take very preliminary steps toward a much-needed renovation of Beaver Stadium, athletic director Sandy Barbour revealed at Big Ten Media Days here Friday. The university is nearly halfway through the initial five-year part of the overall two-decade athletic facilities master plan, and Barbour said it is time to starting kicking around ideas for how and when to improve the massive football stadium. The project is expected to be so complicated that it was not included in the first five-year portion of the overall plan. The upgrade is expected to the so costly that, “We’re not going to do the stadium all at once,” Barbour said. Asked when she intends to get the proverbial ball rolling on that front, Barbour said, “We’ve been in it. We’re constantly in it.
