The departure of Oregon State athletic director Todd Stansbury last month was a surprise to many, but will be far from sudden. Stansbury will not officially take over his new position at Georgia Tech until late November or early December and has remained in Corvallis since accepting that new role. But with Stansbury in transition, Oregon State moved quickly two weeks ago by naming Marianne Vydra the interim athletic director. Vydra, the deputy director of athletics for administration, took the same position last year after longtime athletic director Bob De Carolis stepped down.
