Old Dominion received a $3 million gift toward the reconstruction of S.B. Ballard Stadium. The contribution from alumnus and longtime benefactor Barry Kornblau, a retired Richmond businessman, is the largest to the athletic department in 13 years, the school said.  “I’m doing this for our alumni and our student-athletes,” Kornblau said in a statement released by ODU. “I want our team to have a decent place to play and a place for our alumni and students to attend games with bathrooms and concessions stands that are up to modern standards.” A $67.5 million renovation of the stadium, formerly known as Foreman Field, is currently underway, and is scheduled to be completed by August, in time for the 2019 season opener vs. Norfolk State. ODU has raised $29 million toward the $40 million goal it set for athletics last year. – Ed Miller , pilotonline – Read More
