Oklahoma Christian men’s basketball coach Dan Hays will resign at the end of his 33rd season at the school. The 69-year-old Hays is in his 38th season overall as a college head coach. He’s compiled a 721-460 record entering Saturday’s game at Dallas Baptist (Texas). He spent five seasons at Northwestern Oklahoma State. “It’s time,” Hays said in a statement. “This is something I have been thinking about for more than a year. I have decided I don’t want to be a head coach at age 70.” He was the Sooner Athletic Conference coach of the year five times, most recently in 2005, and NAIA District 9 coach of the year twice (1981, 1985). – Centredaily.
