NYIT Athletics welcomes Dan Velez as the Associate Athletic Director, effective September 28, as announced by Duane Bailey, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation. Velez will serve as Chief of Staff, managing a wide range of matters of institutional importance on behalf of the Director of Athletics. His responsibilities will include oversight of all internal operations as well as serving as the primary administrator for several sports. Velez comes to NYIT from Siena College, where he served as the Associate Athletic Director for Operations. He earned a degree in secondary education from Kutztown University in 2004 and completed a master’s degree in sports management at West Virginia University in 2009.
