Through five weeks, announced attendance at Football Bowl Subdivision games is up for the first time in recent years. Attendance has increased a modest 1 percent compared to last season at this time, but the improvement is notable given that crowds had declined through Week 5 in at least each of the previous four years. The average FBS home crowd this season is 45,422, according to CBS Sports’ analysis of NCAA attendance data.
