Over the last two days, the most often discussed topic at the Learfield IMG College Intercollegiate Athletics Forum presented by Sports Business Journal was the issue of name, image and likeness (NIL). NCAA President Mark Emmert weighed in on NIL during his keynote address, where he admittedly spends “75% of his time” these days on the NIL issue…in many instances, speaking with Congress members. Retiring Big 10 Commissioner Jim Delany concluded by saying we can’t have national championships and national competitions without a national solution to something that needs to be addressed on issues of fairness, competitiveness, and social justice considerations. –
