The city of McKinney predicts over $1.1 million to come in from this year’s NCAA Division II Football Championship to be held in McKinney on Dec. 21. The NCAA announced March 12 it will be returning to McKinney for the next three seasons. The city and McKinney ISD will host the 2019-21 NCAA Division II Football Championship games at the MISD Stadium & Community Event Center, located at 4201 S. Hardin Blvd., McKinney. McKinney expects the 2019 championship and related events to bring in a projected total of $1.13 million to the city and surrounding areas.
