Moorpark College Athletic Director Howard Davis has accepted an interim dean position at the school outside of athletics. Davis was at Pacifica High when he was hired as the Raiders’ fourth AD in June 2006, replacing longtime leader John Keever. Athletic trainer Vance Manakas was announced as the interim AD Thursday. “He was do a spectacular job,” Davis tweeted. Manakas was inducted into the California Community College Athletic Trainer Association Hall of Fame in 2012. He was honored as the Ventura County Community College District and California Community College Classified Employee of the Year in 2015. – Joe Curley. Ventura County Star
