Leon Costello was hired as Montana State’s new athletic director last month in a bit of a bizarre manner. The 40-year-old former South Dakota State administrator was a finalist for the position, which originally went to Kyle Brennan of Utah. The same day Brennan backed out, Costello was hired in Bozeman to replace outgoing AD Peter Fields. Costello’s first week on the job included a trip to Great Falls to visit with boosters.
