The school announced Thursday it has hired Steven Campbell Jr. as athletic director to replace Robin Jeffries, who recently left Perkinston to coach Poplarville’s girls basketball team. A former football standout himself, Campbell played represented Stone High in the annual Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game before playing tight end, center and long snapper for his father. He later transferred to Ole Miss, where he studied economics. Since joining the professional ranks, Campbell has coached for his father at Central Arkansas and later at Virginia Tech in 2016, where he was the special teams quality control assistant. – Sun Herald.
