Charles Mullis has officially resigned as the Athletic Director of Middle Georgia State University as of July 15, 2016. Mullis has served in the role for the almost 7 years and served as Housing Director for 8 years before that. James Hagler, Jr. has been named Interim Athletic Director and will take over duties immediately. Mullis has been through many changes at Middle Georgia State University originally starting with Middle Georgia College in 2001, he served his first 8 years as the Housing Director in which he oversaw the expansion and growth of the residence halls. In 2009 he moved to the role of Director of Athletics and Student Activities in which he oversaw the Wellness Center in Cochran, Athletics, and Student Life. When Middle Georgia State University was created by the consolidation of Middle Georgia College and Macon State College, Mullis was named Director of Athletics and Recreation.
