Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis is set to make at least $917,000 this year, putting him more on par with what top Big Ten ADs have been receiving. The raise comes via an amended contract signed in February that went into effect March 1. He now has a base salary of $667,000 with an annual stay bonus of $197,000 and also gets a $53,000 contribution to a 401(a) retirement plan. His retention bonus is paid out June 30 each year and will increase to $222,000 in 2017. Last week, Hollis was named vice chair of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee for the upcoming season and chair of the committee for the 2016-17 academic year. He has been a member of the committee since 2012. – Kevin Bull, Detroit Free Press. Read More.
