Director of Athletics Scott Spinner, announced today that he will be stepping down from his current position and focusing entirely on the Lindenwood – Belleville men’s basketball program. In October, the Lindenwood administration, including Spinner, determined that the Belleville campus needed a Director of Athletics solely dedicated to the role. After months of thought, prayer, and discussion Spinner has chosen to fully dedicate himself to the men’s basketball program. This was not an easy decision for Spinner, but one that he feels is best. “I’m pleased that the Lindenwood administration recognized the need for this change,” stated Spinner. “The athletics department has simply become too large for its leader to carry dual roles. The choice between positions was a difficult one to make, but ultimately my wife and young girls wanted me to choose what makes me happy. Knowing I had their support made the decision much easier.” In 2009, Spinner was hired as the Director of Athletics and men’s basketball coach by then President Dr. Jerry Bladdick. At the time Lindenwood – Belleville had one athletic program, men’s soccer, and 56 total students. In just six short years, the athletics department has grown to 35 sports and the campus now has 1,300 students. –Read More
