Johns Hopkins University President Ronald J. Daniels announced today the appointment of Alanna Shanahan as the University’s Director of Athletics and Recreation. Shanahan, who is expected to assume her new role on July 18, comes to Johns Hopkins from the University of Pennsylvania. Shanahan becomes just the fourth Director of Athletics and Recreation at Johns Hopkins since 1950 and succeeds Tom Calder, who served in the position since 1995. Earlier this year, he accepted a position as the Director of Alumni Programs in the University’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Calder will begin in his new position on July 1. –Read More
