Mitch Gilfillan, the former Notre Dame three-sport standout, is leaving his position as Illinois State director of operations for men’s basketball for a job as an attorney with Quinn Johnston Law Firm of Peoria. Gilfillan, who joined the ISU staff one year ago, was formerly an assistant coach at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville for a year and at Ball State for three seasons. Gilfillan helped the Mountain Hawks to their first Patriot League regular season and tournament titles as a sophomore and was a team captain as a senior. – Journal Star Staff.
