Hofstra University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Joe Mihalich announced the addition of Lamar Barrett to the position of assistant coach with the Pride. Barrett replaces Akbar Waheed, who departed in May to accept an assistant coaching position at Georgetown. Barrett joins the Hofstra staff after spending the past three seasons at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He helped lead the Monarchs to the title at the inaugural Vegas 16 Tournament in 2015-16, in addition to being part of a program that reached the semifinals of the National Invitational Tournament and twice finished as runner-up in Conference USA.
